Family Therapy

Identify
Family therapy can be a challenging experience, as everyone wants to express their feelings and be heard. Our first step will be to identify a common challenge or goal for sessions. This will provide clarity and a sense of direction for our sessions. We will also spend time getting to know each other better and understanding how the family dynamics work.
-
Process
Processing is a crucial component in family therapy. We each have to provide one another with the space to discuss each perspective. If we do not listen to each family member, then we are not examining the relational cycle and its impacts. Through this phase, we will process emotions, trust, and safety.

Learn
The goal of family therapy is to learn about each other’s needs and to be receptive to collective change. We feed off the energy and patterns within our families so it is important to learn from those experiences to create something new. At this point, we will learn the importance of communication and collaboration.
